German jobbing Currently in Cologne... Had a fun time in Berlin. Actually had a spontaneous job interview today... I saw there was an internet company (webman.de) next to my hostel, so I walked in today and asked if they would like to take a look at my skills... and they did! They even sent me across town to meet their head of engineering (they will be soon moving completely to the new location). He seemed happy and described the various types of positions I might have with them. He is going to talk with the company's leadership and get back to me in a couple of days. I am excited. They look like fun people to work with. Tomorrow I have an interview in Muenster. After that, I may jump back to Berlin for Internet world--a big trade show with lots of companys to talk to. I just found out about it today. Following a day at internet world, I will head into Frankfurt for up to three interviews there. i have gotten a few more replies over e-mail... They told me that they found my application interesting and are discussing it with their management. oh, the suspense! coming up, I have a birthday party in Frankfurt and will spend a couple days sight-seeing with a friend there. Afterwards, may visit a friend in Barcelona. |
