Lost film
Date: Thu, 12 Jul 2001 20:04:05 -0400
All my pictures have been developed, including 49 rolls of slide
film and 8 rolls of print film. I have filed the slides into three
3" thick binders, but haven't cut the negatives yet.
However, I am missing the roll with the last 20 pictures I captured
of Europe. I have one idea of what happened to it.
My last day in Kraków, I toured the church in the town square.
It had a very spectacular interior. You could video tape but not
take still pictures inside. I watched as several tourists whipped
out point and shoot cameras and took pictures with the flash. I
noticed that none of them were harassed or struck by lightning.
Feeling rebellious, I snapped a couple frames in ambient light and
then departed.
I was in a bad and disobient mood that day because when I was leaving
the hotel, I got on the street car that normally took me up to the
main station. About midway, the conductor made an annoucement in
Polish and then kept going. Next think I know, I am in the very
ghetto outskirts of Kraków. Eventually, I get off and get
on the tram riding back to the city. Again, the conductor makes
an annoucement at one point. I get off at the next stop and then
walk the last mile to the train station. I dump my stuff in the
locker for an hour so I can do some final shooting of the city--including
the church.
Wow what a story, maybe you should write a book,
it sure has been good
reading, and you have most of the pictures to prove it, one thing
is for
sure, we're glad your home save and sound. It seems it doesn't mater
where
you are in this world, there are a lot of bad people to off set
the good
ones.....Thanks for the update. Roger & Vicky
